I recently acquired my second Heartfield DR-5 (love these!) and the blend pot needs to be replaced. I've looked for a replacement but haven't found any that look like they would fit on the preamp board. Anyone out there know of the exact type of pot I would need as a replacement?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Yeah. That's where I am as well. No one has been able to find a schematic for the preamp either. This would be very helpful!

Any good guitar tech can tell you which pot you need . He must see the guitar .
Or any good close-up to the pot ?

Any brand name on preamp ?

The brand on the preamp is Heartfield. It's a 500k pot...

You are looking for a 500K pot that will fit in your preamp , a part number

IMO a pot for printed circuit , mini pot ? Or you can fit a regular pot ?

Sure you can find one from electronic suppliers

Picture will help

The pot is very loose I.e., spins very easily and doesn't have much of a center detent.

Yes. The switch on this board has a broken shaft. The preamp board that is in the bass now was a replacement for this board because of the broken switch. The blend pot on this board is very stiff. If it were in better condition, I'd pull this one off and use it as a replacement on the current board.

do you mean the shaft turn too easily , turn by itself ?

Stif = need some quality contact cleaner with lubricant. Contact cleaner will fix it

It doesn't quite turn by itself but it's pretty close.

I've got some Deoxit. I'll have to try that on the other pot! Thanks for the reminder!

So if I were to pick up one of the pots you listed above, would I use short wires to run from the top connections on the pot down to the board or is there a different technique for doing this? I'm interested on learning the correct way to do this.
