I am desperately trying to find a HARD case for my brand new Starcaster short scale Bass. Sweetwater says the only one they show that fits is a soft gig bag. I cannot believe that no one makes a hard case for this $750 semi-hollow body... help please?

Bring your guitar to a good store and try some case like acoustic guitar case , or Gibson electric guitar case .

I'm sure if you ask ( by phone ) if they have , they can't say yes .

Good luck

The Starcaster will fit in an Epiphone Jack Casady bass case just fine!

I went to Sweetwater and bought the Jack Casady case--Starcaster fits into it perfectly. Finally some protection. Only downside is there isn't much room in the case's internal storage compartment. Not a problem for me as I usually bring a backpack with cables / pedals in it and there is plenty of room there. The quality of the case is superb! Would have preferred to buy a "Fender" product but they preferred not to offer one, shame on them.

Fender does make a hard case. The Fender Arch Top Starcaster/Coronado Bass Case part number is 099-6192-306.
