Ok, I have no idea what I have my hands on and would like someones help in translating for me. I was given this guitar as collateral and now the person doesnt want it back, and I want my money. The Serial number is S72075. Its red with very little wear and no knicks in it. It has maybe some initials carved into the front of it. I cant get very technical as Ive never even thought about playing a guitar. Can anyone offer any advice of where to begin searching for information about it? Thanks in advance!

Post pix. BTW, make sure it's not stolen, very few people would let go of their guitar for no money at all. If it's stolen, you can get arrested for selling it too.

Well if you click on the support tab on the fender webiste right left of community tab you can go down to product dating but i will just tell you when it was made. It was made in 77 or 78 not exactly sure you could also unscrew the neck at the point directly behind it after unwinding the bass strings is there are any on the bass to certify what year that the bass was made in. There will be a stamp with the exact day that the neck was made and maybe even if you take the pickguard off which is the the thing that is not red on the bass and is in a very odd shape which the pickups are in the middle of the pots or the two or three little modules right there with wires attatched and running from them. If you look around those pots or the cavity that they are placed then maybe you could also find another date to certify that this guy didn't put a later body with the earlier neck. But good luck on getting this whole ordeal figured out![/quote]
