Ha Ha Ha!

Okay, maybe I am a bit obsessive, but I laughed out loud when I saw the poll. I think at least one other, think BD, will have to admit to affprod levels. Linnin, a toast to you. Cheers! Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.

Steve

You're welcome Steve! I just couldn't resist the affprod option, so I created the poll in order to use it. :D

Affprod is probably the number 1 forum regular when it comes to Fender quantity and quality and deserves his own button.

There also should be a Teddy Gentry button. At one time he owned more collectible caliber Fender basses than anyone I know about ever. Yes more than Affprod! LOL What Jay Leno is to vintage cars, Teddy Gentry is to vintage Fender basses. Teddy had what was actually a warehouse full at one time. However, I do not think he had the entire Performer color catalog, so score one for Affprod there!

BC Bassman might need a button.

There are also three guys from Japan that were going to every guitar show in the southeast and buying anything Fender pre-CBS. For all I know they were nationwide. I really hated it when they arrived. It sort of sucked the fun out of the place. Somewhere in Japan is one heck of a pre-CBS Fender collection that even Teddy Gentry probably couldn't touch.

Robert Trujillo has quite a few too, but I don't know of anyone in the USA who would beat Teddy Gentry.

Still no Fender, here. I've got a few in mind, though.

Fender JP90
Fender Precision Bass Special(80's MIJ)/black body, black headstock, fretless
Fender 40th Anniversary Precision
Fender Mark Hoppus(new design)
Fender Jazz Plus Deluxe 4
Fender 1995-1999 American Standard Precision

JP90 is a versatile passive bass. Totally great. I owned one for a long time, maybe 10 years I think. I've had several American Standard Precisions but none 95-99. Sort of curious why you chose that particular portion of the FMIC era?

I've not owned any of the others on your list.

If I remember right..Fender was making a strong comeback in 1995 with the American Standard series. I've owned a couple 1995 Precisions, and they were two of the best basses I've had. The fit, finish..all that was well above average on every 95-99 I've layed hands on. That was a good time in my life, too..those years were. I also wouldn't mind redeeming myself for selling those two jems.

I had a JP90 for a good while, too. If I ever get ahold of another...it's gonna end up fretless. The JP90 would be a great muah machine imo. The P and J pickup combo is everything I need, along with that lightweight body.

I am up to 17 or maybe 18 depending on the answer to this question.

Does a Heartfield Bass qualify as a Fender?

Absolutely, some even came with Fender decals in Fender cases. The Prophecy and DR series are all Fenders in my book.
