This little Squier Affinity Jazz bass is a knockout!
I ordered it in Lake Placid blue after seeing one at Sam Ash that got away. I got a Sweet Deal from MF during the LDWknd sale. had the chrome already so I just added a thumbrest it's got Really thick plastics, took some time to drill. Polycoat is thick! I was supercareful> I love this little bass.

I just got the Tweed case in yesterday, so I'll have some updated pics with them together when I can.

The pickguard is in desperate need of that eleventh screw.

Nice bass in a great color!

I feel ya.
Believe me I've thought of it! I just don't know what's under there and would like to make sure it's ok first, and then properly scoop out the hole on the pg so I'm not left with a glaring imperfection.

Pull your pickguard to ascertain that there's wood beneath. If so, it's nothing to drill a single hole and thread a pickguard screw into. Be sure to countersink the hole in the pickguard so the head is flush just like the others. I added an eleventh screw to my MIM Standard Jazz Bass when I modded it to resemble a '66 instrument......

Well the Gig Friday Night brought out what I wanted to hear from my new Jazz Bass. After installing 500k vol. pots I had a concern it may be too much, but I couldn't have been any more relieved to find out it was Just What I Needed. Some of the songs I play force me to stand out or pump up the volume in songs like Twilight Zone, Boys of Summer, or Slow Ride-that extra edge of bringing the volume up a notch or two was at my fingertips. After adjusting my stage volume and knowing I had the neck volume set at 3 0'clock I could easily go to 4 or 5 o'clock setting and have it full on. It worked just like that. The Orange cap I had put in really gave me some good tone options, and that control is super sensitive..only needs to move a touch and you can hear the change.
It was deep, thick - not too poppy, just enough treble out there to spazz out some overtones. It was under control. My drummer was like 'Dude, that is Fat sounding! Real deep and full'. I couldn't have been happier/more relieved.
I brought my regular Jazz bass just in case, but it never left the car. It didn't have to step in for the newbie to handle things. Awesome!
