It almost comes down to, how many body designs can be applied, and still have the bass being comfortable to play. Basses with the top horn of the body do seem to be friendly, with the strap button further away from center. I can tell ya', Gibson SG Std. basses have one of the poorest top strap locations of any. They play good, just lousy around your neck. NECK DIVE OF DEATH.

The D bass does resemble some other basses but they do have their own look--- very nice.

The Dimension is a blend of two different basses construction and electronics-wise; it combines the sleek design of the Rapture with the versatility of many single and twin-humbucker Ernie Ball basses.

Well that just puts the poop in the potato salad for me cause I do not like Ernie Sterling Ball basses. Don't try to tell me--- I still don't like them. I guess I need to play a D bass to see what's up and make a dimencision about it. A Rapture body is pretty small BTW. :D

Yep, but the design is pretty similar.

Overall I am please with my Dimension. It sounds great and easy to play. Looks good also. The only complaint that I have is the location of the jack and it has neck dive.

The top horn with the strap button attached, is a little shorter. It still can't be as bad as the Gibson SG Std. Basses for Neck Dives Of Death. With the jack at the bottom location like that, consider using an 90 degree angled input cable jack. They don't bang into things, or break off as easily while plugged in.
