The bass you're talking about is a MIM.

The MIAs came with a 3-ply parchment guard.

Yeah, I realize that...eventually I'm hoping Fender will have that as an option on the amer dlx models

A backrouted Dimension bass without the pickguard would be 8) !

I hear noise with the selector switch in certain positions (single coil?), that's a pitty.
But maybe it's just this setting with a lot of lamps etc. (I hope).

Bang One For Yourself & See!

As for us leftys, we'll just sit and wait and pine away {sniff  sniff} If it's as a big hit, as I'm sure it will be, a lefty isn't too far behind! :D

You can pick the Custom Shop route for a lefty.

Fender cuts costs to save money, that's why production of southpaws is very limited.

The MIA Dimension 5-string sports a 3-ply parchment guard.

Well, why not releasing a six-string American Deluxe Dimension without the pickguard and a 4+2 headstock?

The only thing "cosmetically" that I like about the D-Bass is the Cayenne Burst finish. Leo's designs are still the best in my opinion. I understand the idea of modernizing for today's xbox generation, but the design is way too similar to Gibson's new line of EB basses (released earlier this year) for my taste. I actually think the new EB body looks more Fender-like, and D-Bass body looks more Gibson-esque.

Not my opinion.

Dimension Basses resemble more like a Pedulla Rapture than a Gibson EB.

The D bass does resemble some other basses but they do have their own look--- very nice.
