Hi,
I'm new to this forum.
I bought this acoustic bass:

I have a lot of experience with setup basses but for some reason I can't get a normal setup with this bass. The truss rod seems to work the opposite way. If I loosen it, the action gets low and if I tighten it, the action gets high. When the neck is loosen all the way, the action is still very high (to my hands anyway...).

Any suggestions ???

(Sorry for my bad English) :)

It's a dual action truss it works the opposite of a regular truss.

Go look at "neck set" thread in Precision basses forum. That may help. It doesn't splain completely but if you have any more questions someone can answer them we hope. :D

A truss rod should not be used to adjust the action. Only to correct any bow in the neck and provide the proper amount of relief. Acoustic basses as with acoustic guitars need to have the saddle adjusted to get the action where you want it. How high is the saddle? Is there room to shave down to lower the action? If you are not capable or comfortable doing the work yourself, bring it to an experienced luthier.
