I have to say even as a big Fender user and fan during the 70's and ever since,
that I never saw a Starcaster Bass during that decade or since until I saw the Fender video of the Fender reissues.

I remember a lot of the Starcaster guitars and it seemed back in the 70's Fender couldn't give those guitars away!

I do think that its cool that they are reissuing this bass and the Coronado Bass.

Why not?
all kinds of players are looking for something different. They are pricing them at $899 list.
That is pretty affordable with most discounts running up to 40%.

Is that one of the new Coronados or a vintage bass?

I like the pickups on the new Coronado. they appear to be G retch inspired or directly copied, however you want to call it.

The Starcaster bass has the big humbuckers and an anchored bridge while the Coronado has the " Filter-tronesque" pickups and a floating bridge.

I really wan to hear both. I saw them in the latest "drool=book mailer" from Guitar Genter.

Maybe they will get a couple of each model for me to try out and I'll post a review of them here.

I'm seriously looking at a Coronado right now. Really pretty. I played one for about 5 minutes a week ago and it felt very comfortable and sounded nice. I'd like something that I might play unplugged once in a while but didn't have a chance to try that last week. Can anyone here tell me if it sounds ok unplugged? How about cases? I need something more than a gig bag. I wish there was an American special or standard version.
