I use a Snark on my bass (Granted that it is not a Fender) but it works just fine--no problems.

I'm back to using a Seiko Chromatic ST-747 Tuner. A more accurate tuner.

I checked the specs on the Korg that looks like the origin version of that tuner and it is +-1 cent. That is closer than a Snark I'm pretty sure. Like I said I think the vibe ones are at least +-3 or maybe even 4 or 5 cents to my ears.

In your research Brotherdave, did you see/discover how accurate the Intellitouch tuners were.

I've had good luck with them but just wondering.

Before BD responds, let me add to the question. Several clip ons, including the Snark 8, say you should not clip them on to specfic laquors, including those nitro we have on the older basses. One more worry for me, so I would love to see this thread extend.

Good point, hadn't thought of that either. My '78 Musicmaster was in such horrible shape when I got it that I had to lightly sand it and put some new varnish on the neck to make it smooth. To this day I have no recollection of what I used but it's held up well and is the perfect combination of glossy appearance and "slippery-ness-no-sticky" that you could ask for.
