Just a suggestion to Fender. Flatwound strings for the Mustang Bass.
There's a bunch of Mustangs around. The selection of Medium scale flats out there is weak.

I love flats on Ps and Teles, but typically go with rounds on most others. Habit? I put flats on my 69 Mustang and was really unimpressed. I have not played any of the new Mustangs, my only two are 68 & 69. Everyone has different "likes", but from a flat lover, I need rounds on my Mustangs. Maybe a new string would change my mind??? My guess is no. Just IMO.

I used Nylons on the Pawn Shop Mustang. They sound like flats. It was OK.

I, for one, would have been disappointed to have heard otherwise. hehe

Okay, I have a huge apology to give out.

Flats on a Mustang? Pfffft! Not in this lifetime.

I got a bit spooked by Brother Dave's discussion of the LaBella Fat Flats warping necks. And I had one new package left. So I put it on my short scale 68 Mustang. Less stress, made sense, 4 inches more relief. I actually laughed at myself as I did it.

The bass is scary nice sounding. I have to admit, total surprise.
