Hokey dokey, we'll all be watching with interest tomorrow.

Don't let those knuckles get white.

Here are the pics from Canada. The decal, which we discussed, is not the same as my 69, which is all gold on a red/red. I will be interested in comments. Expected delivery is 10/5 but I am playing all day, so likely 10/7. Pretty quick shipping, long process.

Nice!! I think the "Mustang" has the best looking body shape of them all :D
With that said, "each to their own"

I think it turned out swell.

The paddle tuners are icing on the cake.

Dude, that looks amazing. Daphne blue is such a cool color and I LOVE it when the headstock is painted to match the body, just give such a "completeness" to the whole guitar.

Long wait but worth it. I know the feeling :D

The Mustang project is officially complete as it was delivered today. Looks very nice. So here is the before and after pictures. I started its life Olympic white, then someone tried to do a competition red refinish on it....not good...it will now end its life as a Daphne Blue refinish. I have too much in it to sell it, so I will sell the all original 69.

Before and After:

68 and 69:

It would appear that the new software for the iPhone takes a different sized picture. Trust me, Gord Miller did not make the bass smaller....lol. Now I need to get it over to the photographer to drop into it's spot in the group photo and then that project will be complete as well.

That appears to be a beautiful job on that refinish. What a mustang bass!

I love the Daphne Blue.

I hope it didn't set you back too much.

BC,

Everytime I pull it out of its case, I just love it more. He did a real nice job, and I have wanted a Dahpne/Daphne bass for a long time. Unfortunately, he is not inexpensive so I have more in the bass than its value, but I knew that going in, and it's not going anywhere. I actually sold the 69 to make room, so it is a permanent member of my collection now.

The Daphne Blue is definitely nice! As long as you really like it, the cost doesn't really matter.

That looks incredible!

The likes of the Mustang or the Gibson EB0 were basses that passed me by until recent years (in the UK in the 80s when everyone had to have an active bass they were available for ridiculously cheap prices up until the mid/late 90s). I really wished I'd been more open to them years ago - Trevor Bolder and Andy Fraser used them, and if they were good enough for them...!

Please excuse my nosiness (and feel free to tell me to mind my own business!) but how did you get into collecting basses - what was the catalyst to getting the bug?

Plonk, it was just curiosity, actually. I wanted to experience the evolution of the bass.

The first bass I ever played was a Mustang. The refinish came out incredibly good, especially the matching headstock and decal. Looks so original. Congrats.
