Epi has an EB3L version out now. Jack also used a Fender Vl on the Fresh Cream album, and on a couple songs on the Disraeli Gears album, "Strange Brew" for one. I'd love to see either the EB3L, or the EB1 back in the Gibson line.

Gibsons are nothing more than very expensive rubish. Do yourself a BIG favor, Live Large, and buy yourself a Fender!

Did you trade in the original Electric Lady?

Yeah, especially the EB1 bass. I always thought those were pretty cool. There's also the EB2 bass, which I suppose they did reissue as the 335 Bass this past year. A semi-hollow body or hollow body bass is something I've G.A.S.'d for since I started playing. It's funny how the EB1 was a solid body, even though it had the violin shape like a Hofner. Then again, it came out years before the Beatles and it wasn't a copy like everyone and their brother made afterwards.

No, the original Electric Lady was an EKO Italian Violin Bass, that was a Birthday present on my 17th birthday. It had a signed inscription, and his initials on the back, from a pretty well known guitarist my father knew in 1969. A couple years later She was stolen.
