This was the first Mustang in stock, I was able to find. I like the short scale, with the Fender Humbucking on board. The Pearl PG goes well with the 3-Color Sunburst Alder. String through the body is good too. I definitely like this over the Gibson SG Std. bass. Better feel to the neck, and no Neck Dive Of Death, that the SG Std.'s have. 1.5" Nut like the Jazz Bass is good too. Decent Rosewood on the fretboard as well. A very well finished bass.

I do have a Fender Mustang hardshell case on order for it.

You could have, at least, wiped the fingerprints off.

Jut kidding, it's a nice bass. I played the Reverse Pawnshop Jag. Great sound, finish and the neck was like a Precision. Only drawback was losing five frets.

Thanks OX. The smudge on the tuner key, shows it's real.   I like it cause it's like playing a shortie Jazz. 1.5" @ the nut. The Humbucking sound is something. I was in a local shop noontime today, when they opened up an Olympic White (blue competition stripe). Looked just as good as my 3-Color. It comes with a Fender Jazz Inspection Head Tag, like mine did. These are worth checking out. Fender is hard to beat.

This bass has certain got my interest. I've been thinking about switching to a short scale bass. I like that certain "thump" that they have, and I've found the neck really fast and smooth. I've been doubling on guitar more, so I think it will make the transition back and forth a little less awkward, too.

I'm undecided on which short scale I may acquire in the near future. If I do go for a short scale, it's down to a Fender Pawn Shop Mustang (3-Color Sunburst), or a Gibson SG Std. (Walnut). This is a tough one between the two. I've had both in the past, the SG Std. may win out on this one. Maybe.

What's up with your pictures not being displayed ? You remove them? That's okay I guess- I know what a Mustang looks like. No need to repost. :D

The SG Std. Walnut, won out over the P S Mustang. The SG is coming in from Sweetwater. It should arrive Thursday, the 30th.

Nice choice. I've had my eye on a couple of Gibson basses and guitars, too. The new 2014 models look appealing to me. I like the fact they have some models well under $1000 and they are made in the US Gibson factory. They might not be as fancy, but who cares if you can get a good work horse on a budget.

Thanks man, I think so too. The pups, and pots are the same from the SG Std., to the SG Spl. The only real differences between the two SG models are, SG Std.: Mother Of Pearl on the head, the trapezoid inlay on the fretboard, and the extra heavy Nito finish on the body. The case is the same also for both SG's.

Nice. Of course you have to lay down some Jack Bruce when you get it. It's mandatory. :P Actually, the Epiphone version with the selector switch resembles his model. I wonder why they haven't done that for the Gibson models?
