Any of that digital love and wizardry working its way to the Bass lines?

The thought of Drop D with the flick of a switch has got me pumped!

Acoustic AND electric in one?

C'mon...someone has got to make this dream available to the masses.

If you are looking for a bass that can mimic other basses, try the Line 6 Variax basses 4 or 5 string. They were on clearance about 2-3 months ago for $499.99 shipped from all the major internet retailers. I got the 5 string and its great, its not an exact sounding Ric, Fretless, vintage J, Musicman etc... but will do the job and especially at $500, it cheaper than buying 20 + different basses. If you gig and play a variety of styles the Variax would suit you well.

I'm sure Fender will come out with a VG P or J bass in about a year or two. Same thing that happened with the G-DEC digital amp, they put out the guitar version and 2yrs or so later came out with the bass version B-DEC. We bassists are always second fiddle to our 6 string breathern

I've tried the Line6 toy bass. There's a reason why it listed for 1100.00 and is now selling for 499.00...its junk!

Here's to hoping that Fender spreads the love to the Bass side of the house.
