I've tried the one with two humbuckers and jaguar, both worth the money. Very clean, craftsmanship is top notch. Sound wise, Jaguar was as good as an average American Standard and the dual humbucker was somewhat dead but still worth attention.

I sometimes play Fender products from China with off names like Starcaster instead of Strat. They are very inexpensive imports used for promotional items. I would never own one. They are bad. Free would be too much money. For my last promo gig I actually bought an old beater 68 Mustang rather than play the intrument they wanted to furnish, and had that wrapped instead.

On the other hand, my acoustic Kingman is a very enjoyable instrument.

I have never picked up a modern player, so no help there.

Even though I enjoy my Kingman, I don't think at this point I would ever knowingly purchase an ax made in China. Just personal opinion.
