The new Squire Telecaster Basses look good to me! Also Squire's "Vintage Modified" series have a very good reputation. I don't think I'd touch any other brand when it comes to inexpensive instruments.

Even $200 for a Vintage modified isn't bad. Good luck.

So Mona, how goes day two? Remember you need to cook bass noodles fresh daily. Perhaps you need a new bass stove. I use a Fender Rumble 75 combo and it cooks my basslines to perfection.

I have a new found total respect for Bass players as of today..Goodness and Gravy first of all they are flippin heavy as heck..second..who's bright idea was it to put the frets so far apart..and lastly ouch..ouch ..index finger on the hand that is accustomed to a pic..Im trying to not use and learn the walk thing..and lastly..the moving the thumb thing up and down the strings..is really wierd haha!...Today I sort of didnt sound extremely aweful playing Tracy Chapman ..give me one reason, I do hope the neighbors did not hear it though (gulp)

Bass is a different animal. Take your time and go slow. One of the things that will help you, is, less is more. :)

No headphone out on your amp? It's my wife's favorite part of my rig.

Tell your husband it could be worse!
