Try cking the product section on this site. I had the original Urge, it was always active, doesn't matter if you're using the 2 j p/u's or the middle p, or all 3, it's always powered. Not sure if it's like that with the Urge II.

hi.very very tanx for your answer to me.

i know that "urge II upgarde drop-d tuner" have a hipshot and drop-d tuner but this gear is more expensive than the urgeII....but in some properties are equal !

I think it's cool to have, like a new toy, but I tune to D, so the rest of the strings are drop tune too. It wouldn't do me any good personally, since I wouldn't drop down to C then.

It's more like getting a Navigation system on a car, it's cool, it works, but so does an atlas you know. It's pretty equal...I'm oldschool I guess.

I see you're from Iran, my grandparents stayed in Tehran in the early 70's, my grandfather was teaching there. I myself came from Indonesia, Jakarta specifically.

Good luck with buying the Urge II. Assalam.

No I'm not, I'm Indonesian. I was brought up in the Faith. I can read the Qur'an and recite the verses. Non believer I am now. Anyways, if you do get it, they are awesome basses the Urge II. I loved mine - which was The Urge Original model - but it was a short scale, the II's are regular 34" scale.

I've owned the original Urge, never had the Urge II. They are great basses tho. Mine was a 30" scale, where the II is 34". The '07 or newer would have the drop D tuning. How much would this bass cost in Iran? Do you get it from a black market or does Fender has an authorized dealer there?

I think you meant to say that you love his playing - I agree, Stu Hamm is one of the best bass players out there. There are plenty now a days that are very excellent players. You put Mr Steve Harris in there too, I agree, I got into playing bass because of Steve Harris. My idols are, Stanley Clark, Stu Hamm, Steve Harris, Flea, John Paul Jones, and plenty others. Do you have to pay tax when you get the bass guitar back in Iran - from LA?

I like all the colors, so, to me it doesn't matter. Mine was purple, with pearloid pick guard. Black is nice, the red with pearl is nice too.

I don't know. Perfect to me can be something totaly diff't than what's perfect to you. To me my '87 is perfect now. Tuned and set up the way I like it. If I can get a hold of an Aerodyne J Bass, or American Deluxe Ash, those would be great for me. It all depends on the sound you make/want, the kind of music you play. I play heavy music, so my bass is set up as such.

Geoblog,
I have the URGE II before they added the drop d and its a good sounding and versatile bass and nice to have a 2 octave neck--very rare on a Fender. Only other 24 fret is the Korean made active Jazz, but I have a feeling Fender is going to discontinue this. Another good alternative is the Roscoe Beck 4 sting. I'm amazed at how many different tones you can get from a passive bass and it also has the drop d on the newer models and its the same price as the URGE II.

Keep on rocking in Iran are you the "Ayatolah of Rocking Rolla"?

Now only if our two governments could get along :) Always nice to hear from international members.
