I'm thinking about purchasing a RB IV. Do the maple fingerboard RB IVs have a painted headstock to match the body color?

Thanks!

I don't have a definite answer for you as the only pics I can find are for the honey burst and crimson red models, which does not have a matching headstock.

Both here http://www.fender.com/products//search. ... 0196402842

Never really paid attention, but come to think of it the rosewood fingerboards do seem to be the only ones with matching headstock. Great passive bass and can get a lot of different tones

I have contacted someone on another forum who just posted photos of his new RB IV as of 2/19/09 that is Lake Placid Blue, Maple neck, and yes (sadly, my opinion) it has a painted headstock.
I would love to have that bass with an all maple neck and headstock (the Steve Harris look). If the current configuration is all I can get I still may, but man, give a guy the option and save yourself some paint.
As stated above, my opinion.

why do they never give a bass full curves? they always give it a strange masculine appearance... I thought part of fender's marketing scheme was sex appeal... I mean the "female form" is always used in art... I demand the bass be given full status as a work of art... give the bass full rights!
'tis bassploitation i say giving all the unwanted shapes to the bass

this bass has that strange funkiness going on...
