You're talking about the fretless 6-string right? Maybe try contacting Fender or the Custom shop IDK.

Same here. Sadly i was looking for a Fender six a several mounths ago when i saw a video of Steve playing his fender at the New Hampshire Bass fest, but they still have yet to release anything about the topic. I ended up buying a warwick and have to say if they release this one, ill be trading it in for this. NOTHING beats the sound of a fender...

I concur with SBsig6. I love the RB-V's.

The 6 string bass sounds interesting.

I wish someone from the admin level of the forum would answer this question, the existance or possible future existance of a steve bailey signature six string bass or a general six string jazz bass that is. I see myself buying one of these as soon as it came out, being an avid six string player already. Some one please give some help...

That's where Fender has to make the decision, keeping you SBsig6 happy or making money on this model you want them to make. Not many people would buy it for them to make a profit. Like it or not, Fender is a business and have to make money on their product. If they do a comparison on multi string basses that they produce compare to the 4 string, it prolly hard to justify the 6 stringer...let alone a sig 6 string. I'm not admin level either tho, just basic business dictate Fender's decision I'm sure.

Truly well stated PowerJazzBass. I understand the economic hardship that Fender might face with releasing such a bass, but the question of purchasing avalibility still stands. Will the day come when we will be able to purchase a Steve Bailey Six string bass, or possible standard six string jazz bass, via the custom shop or standard ordering? Such information I have not yet found.

Does anyone know if Fender has released any information on this top, for I have been searching relentlessly for the past couple of months and have yet to come to any conclusions. Any information will be greatly appriciated, as this continues to be a pressing issue for me.

Would customer relations be able to help with these questions? It's a legit question. It's not a secret obviously since lots of people has inquired about it...heck it was also in BP mag.

It would be cool in fretted version. Kind of like the discontinued Fender Roscoe Beck V, but with the additional high C and passive electronics.

Juan, I had one awhile back - 4 years a go maybe. It was a Soundgear SR506, I loved it, no issues from drop down tuning. The neck was thin enough for my small hands. BTW, I got used to the 5 string neck and weight too now. The Soundgear was light too.

I had a SR800 4 string in 1989 0r 1990 I think and I loved it .I was a pleasure to play so easy in my hands . I am still thinking on getting one of those SR506 in mahogany I think !
