Would it kill Fender to offer some more Mustang Bass finishes? I'd pick up a amber/butterscotch one in a second. An aged maple neck w/tort pickguard would be a plus too. Or what about the Comp finishes? Why does Fender Japan get all the goodies?

Japan also got lotsa finishes on Gibson SG basses too. USA only got Heritage Cherry.

Maybe they sell more 'stangs there than in the USA so they get more color options?
I would imagine not much of a market here in the States for 'stangs. Jazzes and P's must be the top sellers here.

Mustangs would be better if they had neck joining the body at the same fret as a Pbass. But with the lower fret joint, there is virtually no upper fret access. At least my hands can't do it.
