my mate just popped round with one of these, literally fresh out of the box. didnt get anything with it, but thats no biggy doesnt bother him. and he got a cheap bag thrown in to sweeten the deal.

he only stayed for 5 minutes, and i dont play bass but had a quick unplugged flee on it and it certainly seemed pretty nice. first impressions couldnt notice anything that instantly stuck out as cheap and crappy, except as mentioned the scratchplate. only the cut edges though, and a quick rub with some wet and dry paper would soon sort that out and leave it looking nice and smooth. the engraved 'fender' on the pickups is a nice touch, and the humbuckers themselves look real nice on the guitar. and i personally love seeing a tele headstock on a bass.

for what they cost, it seemed pretty mega. i played a modern player thinline telecaster a few weeks ago, and those also felt like more than they cost. on the basis of the 2 MP's ive had a flee on, id take one over a squire any day of the week.
