Fake. Not maybe fake. For sure fake. Apparently this poor soul got taken and has no idea. Bless his heart, poor thing.

The decal is a generic Fender with the "PRECISION" or "JAZZ" cutaway before it was applied.

It looks to me a possible Squier version of the Mike Dirnt artist bass, the original is Mexican made and the Squier is Indonesian made, the Squier is also about 1/3 the price of the Mex made model.
It however has been RE-FINISHED(if it were a fender)because no M.Dirnt bass come is red,It also may be a JayTurser Bodied bass with a aftermarket or Squier neck with a Generic Fender decal.
There are alot of possibilities and the pics posted dont show enuff to make a positive call (and its probably no accident)they seem to not show any true detail,ASK FOR A SERIAL or BETTER PICS.

Always be suspicious of items listed without pictures of the bass from all sides and angles, they keep tell-tale shots out of the bass out of site to hide the true identity.
There was a fellow a few yrs back who took Bronco basses(149.00$)changed the tuners(40.00$)routed a humbucker pickup(30.00$ from Stew Mac)added a Ghoto bridge(30.00$)and a American made decal(10.00$)and sold them for 1500.00$ as custom Fender basses.
I was following an auction where the fellow would'nt show me the headstock of the bass,I knew he was hiding it for the reason that the design was'nt the collectable one and would sell for far less if he shown the true design that it was.
My point is stay away from auctions that seem felonious, you sensed something wrong for a reason so follow yur gut, either its that or the person just dont know what they are selling/doing s and thats another reason to stay clear.
goodluck
