Did Fender had any plans to release a USA version of the Jag Bass? Because the Custom Shop made a one-of-a-kind Jag/USA Deluxe Jazz hybrid for Paramore's bassist Jeremy Davies.

Actually, The Deluxe Jaguar Bass (sunburst, Candy Apple, and cobalt) have a 025 prefix which implies Crafted In Japan.

TRUE. But the black one pictured in this thread isn't Japanese. It has a 024 prefix which apparently means China.

Ahh. Yes, the Modern Player most likely is Chinese. My interest was in the Deluxe though. Hoping to find one in a store around here to check out.

Newbie here...

Just got a Modern Player Jaguar from MF 2 weeks ago. I have to say that it's a steal. I got a 15% discount, which made the deal for me. I play through an Ashdown MAG C410T-300 EVO II, using a T Rex squeezer. My main bass is a 2010 Rick 4003, and I wanted something inexpensive, but road worthy should I not want to take my Ric on the road. I was impressed at what I received. The neck is fast and comfortable and the bass has tons of low end. The black finish was flawless. I'm still working through the sounds of mixing the j p/u with the p p/u. I'm also experimenting with Chrome flats on it before I send it in for a set-up. I haven't owned a fender since a new 78 Pbass which was awful. My favorite Fender was a 66 Jazz w/ a tobacco burst finish which I sold for 300 bucks back in the day.

I knew I wanted a good Fender as a back up for my Warwick Corvette Pro, but I wasn't sure which one, until I listened to Diamond Eyes by Deftones. Vega's tone on that record is intoxicating. I read in an interview that he recorded that record with two Jaguars. A few youtube vids later and I was sold. Now I just need $850.
