Went to Guitar Center in Monroeville today to use the gift card my daughter got me. I was surprised to find out two managers who I've known and dealt with for over four years just quit. They had transferred from their old store to this one. Inventory was down even more than last time, pushing American Specials big time.

I was surprised to see two FSR Jazz Basses in natural ash, rosedwood neck and tortiseshell pickguard. I have a Precision like ths. These were the first ones I've seen in a couple years.

Didn't use the gift card because I couldn't find anything. I wonder how long they're going to be around. With our luck, probably forever.

Still no Blacktop Basses!

I'm really hoping Fender hits a home run with this one. There have been a lot of disappointing "new" models lately. One of our friends has a Blacktop Strat and loves it. I still haven't been able to get my hands on one.

That may not be a good thing, if I like it, I'll want to buy it! It's under $500.00, I can do that! hey, wait a minute!

OMG,

G.A.S. ATTACK!

Thanks a lot, brotherdave!

Ox, seriously man. From one Bozo to another, I just played A Blacktop Precision at SA. It was ok, but not that great. The Squiers were better finished, for less cash. Didn't care for that style bridge on it. The fretboard was pretty rough. The neck itself on this one felt ok though. Sound didn't do that great either. I guess if you have to have a bass that's lower in price than a MIM Std., and has a Fender decal on the head, that's it. For real playing, a Squier, or a MIM Std.

Keep you Pirates hat on your Jazz. It's a better Blacktop. 8)

I had high hope for the Blacktops but, wasn't going to let them disappoint me again.

I went to Guitar Hell for the last time today and used my gift card. Got two Live Wire cables, now anything I buy will be online. Nice girl at the store, I told her that i was through with Guitar Center, she asked why. My response was, every guitar and bass could be classified used, none are set up properly and I'm convinced they sell "seconds".

Surprisingly, she agreed with me.

I'm good for gear, just stirring up everybody with that other post.
:D

If Penny can make that happen, even I will have to take my hat off to him.... If I wore one... I suppose I could put one on just to take it off for him.... But that's such a hassle.... Maybe I could just mime the action of taking my hat off to him.... YEAH! THAT'S THE TICKET!

It's funny I was thinking about shooting a mime today. I figured I should use a silencer. Plus there is nothing like the sound of a mime screaming. They make easy targets too. You just wait until they are trapped in a box. Then I realized that a mime is a terrible thing to waste.
