Anyone have any suggestions for a good fitting case for my Precision Lyte bass.Everything I try is too wide for the body.Prefer molded type, but will consider hardshells as well.
Thanks,
Den

Any Fender case should work. I have a Power Jazz Bass Special that came with a case, that case is currently for my VM. I bought a no name case from a local music store and it fits my Fender fine. Yes, it's a universal. My '89 fits in a molded too, which is for my '99. Your P Lyte has the same body as mine (dif't wood) and a P neck, while mine is a J neck...more like an in betweener :)

Any local music shop should let you try out their case before you buy it. If you have a local shop...if not internet it is, but it's a pain to return from on line retailers. Good luck.

Power Jazz,
I think you're mistaken with your reply.Yes a P bass Lyte will fit in any any Fender case, but it will swim in it.My body is a downsized Precision style.Much smaller than a std.Jazz or Precision bass. And the body wood is basswood, with a Jazz neck.I need a case that's narrow width wise so the bass doesn't move around. All universals I've tried are too wide.Any other suggestions?

I can't help you then. Mine is the Power Jazz Bass Special, it has it's own case. It's a hardshell, but the inside is molded shaped like my bass. My bass body is a Pbass body tho, so maybe that's why it fits a universal w/o 'swimming' in it. Yours never came with a case? I guess the only suggestion would be a molded case. Look for used, I got mine for $40...$40!!! It's $130 brand new. Keep us posted my friend. Good luck!
