It seems like many of you wants the jaguar bass back (including me)! Now that my old one is broken and they aren't selling it any more and I think it really sucks, 'cause I loved that guitar so much (good job Japan)!! Why can't they just make a Blacktop model of it?
Just write your name please and why you think Fender must re-produce it again.

Greets Bert

(sorry for the rubbish english, I'm from belgium btw :D)

Greetings Bert, welcome to the Forums.

the reason for not selling it anymore is because Fender is in the business to make money. So you and 20 other people are not going to make them keep producing a specific model. Bottom line is keeping in the black to keep rolling. I'm not going to suggest the Squier Jag model, since it seems all the Fender Jag fans are too much of a fanboi to switch to the Squier Jag...from my observation of course, and not done scientifically

The Jaguar Basses are currently only available by Squier. The Mustang Bass might take that road too, I've heard rumors and seen a picture with a Squier Mustang Bass.

Welcome to the Fender Forum. Yours broke? Can it be repaired? In 15, 20, 30 years or so they just might be highly sought after collectibles!

I think they are still be produced in Japan and are still for sale there. But cost way more than they did when available here and you have to pay very expensive shipping to USA.

Ask yourself this though. When was the last time you picked up a 1965 Jaguar and the switches worked? Those slide switches are a constant source of problems on the original Jags and have to be routinely maintained with contact cleaner. Even then they can still can cause issues. I expect the complicated electronics is one reason the Jaguar bass is no longer imported as that model was destined to generate more than it's share of warranty claims. Think about it. Yours broke.
