Just a thought: how about adding a bass or two to the Pawn Shop series? I´bet you could do a lot of fun stuff with that.Long scale, short scale,wide-range bass humbuckers and more. Again, just a thought. :)

the only problem with that is that the Pawn shop series is for design concepts that never made it to the factory floor (i think) and Fender show a certain reluctance to use the pickups of their "enemies" Gibson (as Seth lower popularized the Humbucker); and most bass ideas have actualy been made- because they're more Bass-ic than guitar ones i guess

Seth Lover made a bass and guitar humbucker for Fender in the 70s. It was called the Wide Range. It appeared on Telecaster Deluxes and Telecaster basses.

The Pawn Shop bass series is a great idea.

Thanks! I´m thinking it might be cool to have a wide range hb combined with p- and/or j-bass pickups. Or maybe a twin wide range set up like the Custom Shop limited run Telecaster bass had. Thinline bass, anyone?

Yeah, the Wide Range needs to make a comeback in the Fender brand. Squier's been making a Telecaster bass with "Fender" stamped on the humbucker, which is strange. A long scale Mustang or Telecaster bass with 2 humbuckers would be really cool to see.

Pawnshop Series basses. That's something I'd love to see, but I don't think there were many, if any bass prototypes. But nonetheless I'd like to see what they can come up with if they put their crazy caps on for the basses too.

The 2011 Blacktop Jazz & Precision Bass concepts are pretty weird.
