Joe Tex - Skinny Legs and All
Archie Bell and the Drells - Tighten Up.

Pretty sure they were not Fenders but could be wrong.

I grew up with these and that sound is just so classic.

Norbert Putnam played bass in the Fame Rhythm Section at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals back then, which is who played on the Joe Tex recording you speak of before Joe Tex started recording at American Sound Studios in Memphis during the late 60's and very early 70's. NP had two Precisions then, so it was either his 1958 or 1965 Fender Precision. I think he still has and uses both of them. The larger top photo is the '58 and the smaller bottom photo is the '65.
