Hi all,
I know that this topic has been around the forum for a while, but it seem that the Jaguar Bass has, in fact, been discontinued.

I played one last week and it was awesome and completely beautiful... I came home to do some research and see how much they were going for, what folks thought of them, etc. Much to my dismay I was unable to find the Jaguar Bass (sunburst) in stock from any of the major retailers (Sam Ash, Guitar Center, Zzounds, Elderly Instruments, Musicians Friend) AT ALL. I even tried Craigslist (NYC) and ebay with NO hits.

So - needless to say I went back the next day brought her home. Since then I've been periodically checking sites and it still seems to be unavailable which is a shame because it is truly one of the nicest basses I have ever played. I'm just glad that I was able to get one before it was too late.

Dave

what are those rollers and switches for on the Jag? The Squier version doesn't have it does it?

The new Squier has the '62 Jazz Stacked Controls - 1 Vol/Tone for each PU.

On the Fender Jag, the switch at the top toggles between active and passive mode. The rollers at the top are the bass and treble boost/cut for active mode.

Two of the three toggles at the bottom are pickup on/off switches, and the other is the series/parallel switch.

Then there's the master volume and master tone. Easy once you get used to it.

Discontinued? I don't think this bass was gone from Fender's pricelist, check the products page:

Thanks for the info, is the Jag a 32" scale bass too? I really like the Squier ones, look really sharp.
