So I just watched a video about Stu Hamm pushing his signature series bass with Washburn. I take it his contract with Fender is over then? Here's the vid (if not allowed, Brad you can delete it): http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/ ... mer-360925

Stuart's new signature axe is not an "urge"-style electric, but a modified AB40 acoustic bass guitar with a bound laminate mahogany body, arched spruce top and maple back, maple sides, mahogany neck with a 23-fret rosewood fretboard, yin-yang bass clef inlays and a intonatable monorail bridge. The AB40SH also sports custom piezo electronics, Buzz Feiten fine-tuning system and Grover tuners.

AVAILABLE IN BLACK CHERRY SUNBURST AND NATURAL.

Did you watch the video Chrome? He has one from Washburn, the Hammer - that's the signature model. Jazz style pup on the bridge, Musicman Humbucker style on the neck.

I recalled Stuart playing a FIVE-STRING version of the Urge II for a couple of years.

It appears that the five-string Urge never went into general production.

opinions are just that and in a very friendly and bro type way I would like to say that I think that bass looks really good. I like the color and the headstock and the way the Fender looking tuners look. The frets look fat. I would pick one up and play it if I saw it at a music store but I would try to plug it into some kind of Ampeg or SWR. The Music man type neck pickup and the Jazz type bridge may have an interesting sound. My first girlfriends are Fenders but I'm allowed to look at other basses without getting in trouble with my women. Living the life...........
