Not rocket science, looks like an older model Musicmaster bass, thats been altered(hacked up,jury-rigged)w/differnt shaped pick-ups,added some lightweight tuners and called it day, these were the "beginner"quality Fenders before they had the Squier models, made for smaller hands(children, women ETC..)Thet were'nt all that great sounding with only a single coil pickup and really were'nt all that easy to intonate due largely impart to the smaller neck size and length and chessy bridge with only 2 barrels and seeing it was a smaler scale strings were'nt cheap, many used regular Fender scale strings cut down to fit and again the intonation problems arise unless a new nut was cut to allow for the cut to size scaled strings were thicker at the top due to customizing their length,I had a 78 that was given to me as payment for some bass repair done and I had fun trying to teach my tone deaf X-wife to play, now they are severly overpriced, even the Squier vista-tone series are a bit pricey, get a Bronco bass, change the pick-up(not really neded)new bridge and put some better tuners and you got yourself a custom Fender bass.
