Probably Carvin Icon, 4 string, walnut top. Nothing fancy, just a good quality bass to my spec, that would depreciate like lead in water if I ever wanted to sell it ;)

Currently I'm waiting on the delivery of a Fender Steve Bailey Jazz Bass VI. I always said that if Fender made a 6 string bass with 24 frets I would have one. I think a close second would be a Warwick Thumb 6 string.

Peace Out,
Rev J

Rev,

The more you keep looking out the window, the longer it will take to come. At least that's been my experience.

I hear ya. I'm probably gonna start playing my Yamaha 5 again to pass the time. I'm also learning how to fix a Galien Krueger 800 RB. Just kind of do some stuff to take my mind off it.

Peace Out,
Rev J

From my experience with GK amps, the best tool would be a big hammer and a tarp, to lay in the driveway when you run it over and crush it :D

My dream bass?

Probably a late 60s/early 70s Fender P-bass, preferably in black & maple but I would take white & maple or sunburst & rosewood, which was once in the possession of Roger Waters, and Geezer Butler, and Roger Glover at some point of their careers. That would be reallycool.

or a 2010 Fender American Deluxe P-Bass in black & maple.

or a Rickenbacker 4003, in either Mapleglo or Fireglo.

or a Sadowsky NYC P/J, not sure of color combo yet.

Well I bought it from a guy on the street for $40 since I'm kind of broke from paying off the Fender (Half Joke) it seemed like a good deal. Plus I figured that it would be a good way to learn about electronics. I'd like to evolve a little bit with those skills and start building Studio equipment like Compressors an Outboard EQ's .

It's weird when I first started playing the popular rig for the music I was playing was an 800 RB through Hartke's. That was the 80's chops metal thing. Now I've gotten into the whole Jam band thing and it seems like all they play is Modulous through Ampegs is the tone of choice. My rebellion against the status quo dream rig I think would be to rebuild the GK and run it with a Tone Tubby 2x10 with a tweeter and a Hard Truckers 2x15.

Peace Out,
Rev J

Rev J,

You have to look int Tech21 Sansamp Bass Drivers, they have a bunch that will give you awesome sound, usually, in spite of the amp you're using. A bunch of us on here use them and are glad we discovered them.

Check out your local Guitar Center, they usually carry some models.

Ox, wussup bro...How do you like the SansAmp Bass Driver? A lot of people has recommended it to me, I've yet to try it. Maybe in a few yrs - family man here
This year is the EMG for the '99, next year...not sure yet. The SansAmp is on my radar now tho.

They have a couple of them at the studio where I intern. I'm thinking about getting the middle priced programmable model. I don't need 6 presets 3 will do the job thanks.

The same place where I ordered the Steve Bailey is also a Sansamp dealer and I can get a programmable for $208.

I've also tried the Xotic trilogic pedal it has a nice clean and clear sound at least the way I set it.

Peace Out,
Rev J

Hey Rez, the Bassdriver was the best piece of equipment I ever bought, wouldn't think of not having one. I was hard into John Entwistle and getting into Geddy Lee when I researched articles about them, SansAmp kept coming up, the rest is history. I would not hesitate at all in recommending their products, once you try one you'll be hooked too.

Rev J, sounds like a good choice to me. I'm an impulse buyer, when I see something I want, I buy it, if I have the cash of course. I never even bothered to see if there was anything between the Bassdriver and the RBI. If I had it to do over, I'd get the one you decided on.
