I have had this Fender Bass Musicmaster for a few years now and it and it's case are in dire need of restoration. The neck is straight and it is a kool natural finish. Can anyone steer me to an old craftsman. I would also like to get the case restored as well.

CURTIS NOVAK. http://curtisnovak.com/

That is UNLESS you want a refinish. Curtis will NOT refinish ORIGINAL finish Fender instruments.

For a refinish on an original finish vintage Fender, DO NOT DO IT. If I can not talk you out of it, then the ONLY person I would consider is Gord Miller http://gmvintagerestorations.com/

You mention the case needing restoration too. If it is a wood case, I would suggest a good luggage repair shop.

A chipboard case is probably not worth restoring unless you can prove that it is original to the bass. The Fender cases that are worth restoring are the tolex, over wood, rectangular cases.

You mention that the bass is in a natural finish. If that is the original finish I would leave it alone.
A Natural finish done by fender would've been done on an ash wood body and it would be a light colored wood with prominent grain.

Many Musicmaster basses were done in basic colors like red, white, blue and black, in the early years of the model (1970-1975).
Later on they may have done some in sunburst and natural over ash, which would mean that Fender spent more on the body than the early versions whcih were just 3 or 4 peice alder bodies.
