I would really consider it. I like the P/J pups combination.

The Deluxe Zone was offered with 5 strings as well.

I really disliked Fender's decision to not offer the American Deluxe Zone as a 5-string version and discontinue these basses in 2006.

There were rumours saying the Zones were dropped from the pricelist due to bad wiring. True or false?

The Zones were real beauties sound and esthetic-wise, especially the American Deluxes with their fancy exotic timbres.

Which version did you have? Four or five-string?

My local music store (Jackson's) has one that I've been looking at, but don't know much about. I actually played it today and it felt really nice. I may give this another thought. Perfect timing.

Fender never offered the Zone in a fretless version.

If you want a fretless Zone bass, ask a professional luthier to unfret the fingerboard and replace the frets with inlaid white fretline markers to make fretless playing an unbelievable experience.
