the active electronics with the active EQ has the battery in the back, get a small piece of cardboard, or multiple pieces of paper and shove it tight in that cavity, thats how my friend did it

I was looking more on the grounding and/or shielding suggestions. Indeed I remember that someone mention something about just only one wire to ground on a different place.

I tried the cardboard thing with no sucess.

He told me to change the pre-Amp in the bass. But what other pre-amp
would handle the Active/Passive pick up configuraration????

When I asked him which one he used on another customers Jag..he claimed to not remember...Nice

There are two noise problems with the Jaguar:

1: Oxides in the battery contacts from that stupid (non-)connection method

2: Discontinuity in the shielding of the upper cavity from the rest of the shielding/common.

These are notorious noise sources, but about a five minute fix.

I did them and got rid of at least 90% of the awful out-of-the-box noise my Jaguar had.

Bunch of threads about these fixes on TalkBass.Com.
