Are there any? Particularly, I am interested in an American made Mark Hoppus.

Well theres the Marcus Miller JB...I think the Geddy Lee too...though that might be a Japanese instrument. Though $@! made Fenders are easily on a par with US ones.

Personally I'm not a fan of the Hoppus. It just looks confused. 'Should I be a jazz bass or should I be a Precision?' Aesthetically it doesn't work for me. I also don't really understand the lack of a tone pot.

Horses for courses though.

no such thing as an American made Mark Hoppus bass unless you want to custom order one exactly like his from Fender's Custom Shop. For a moderately priced ~$860 Artist bass, the REggie Hamilton is quite nice and versatile--made in Mexico , but there is also a US made custom shop version that goes for $2300. I have both a Geddy Lee & Marcus Mill IV both made in Japan and the craftmanship is great and in my opinion more consistant vs the US made Fenders. Just got the Rosco Beck IV and so far am pleased with it.

Not trying to be a "factory nazi" here but when you usually play the artist series bass they are designed to produce their sound without many other options and i would strongly advise you to deeply consider a purchase of a bass that's from an artist without playing and messing with the tonal variations as well it would be tragic to buy a bass then get bored with it but it's your money and it's your choice and no there is not an american artist series that is non-custom shop although may i remind you that all instruments can play differently so if you have a music shop such as a guitarcenter near by see if they have one so you can go play it before you buy it to see how you like it.

Both Tony Franklin basses, both Steve Bailey, the Reggie Hamleton, and all the Victor Bailey basses are MIA.

The Marcus Millers and Geddy Lee are CIJ.

I *think* the rest are MIM, but I'm not sure about all of them.

The Roscoe Beck is MIA. I know for sure.

The Stu Hamm is MIA, but originally was MIM.

IIRC, the Reggie Hameltion comes in MIM too.

I've had the 09model Steve Harris sig for 7months now which is CIJ, I've also had a Jaguar which was CIJ, no need to be concerned about them being non-US made, TRUST ME!!!!!!
