I watched a Steve Vrai clip on You Tube, and the bass player played a bass guitar I have never seen before, does anybody knows what sort of guitar he plays? It is a double neck bass, it could be a Fender but I am not sure, I do not even know whether Fender ever produced double necked basses.

In the You Tube clip go to 4.00 min to get a good look at the double neck bass.

Thanks for the info. I noticed it weights 20 pounds, and that is a lot. I believe the average Fender base weights between 8 and 10 pounds, so this Yamaha weights more 2 Fender basses.

Hi thanks for this. I didn't know that Yamaha is almost twice the weight of Fender. Thanks again.

Bob, Yamaha guitars are quite heavy. I know a few models that weigh a lot more than anything.

Oooooh No its just Billy Sheehan having another "HEY EVERYONE LOOK AT ME,PLEASE PAY MORE ATTENTION TO WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO" with his Yamaha Signature Attitude Bass with 2 necks  . His signature bass is a P/style body with a Fender Telecaster neck position pickup and a precision pickup in the normal position, string through body bridge,Dual input jacks to allow each pickup its own circut, maple neck with a dove/ducktail body mounting design and 7 or so scalloped frets at the body end of the neck.
His chops and original technique shows off his immense skills but I dont perticulary like his style of playing,I describe it as He's a great guitarist who's stuck in a bassists body,I am not bashing him I just dont like ANY song he played on aside from a few with Mr David Lee Roth,he spends too much time trying to be cool insted of just playing whats needed to compliment the song.

One Fretted and one Fretless.

One Normal and one Piccolo.

One 4 String and one 8 string.

One Guitar and one Bass (ala Mike Rutherford or Geddy Lee).

2 different tunings/tuning systems (ala Michael Manring).

In Sheehans case one neck is tuned. B-E-A-D the other is tuned E-A-D-G. Personally I don't see the point either as you can just as easily play a 5 and get rid of the second neck all together.
