Is this model still being manufactured in black, or is it now only available in 3-color sunburst??

I've been checking my area the last couple of days and have had zero luck finding a black. GC didn't even have a product number in their database. Not sure what's happening.

That's too bad!! Nobody has a clue what's going on. I just can't believe the stupidity of not producing the black jaguars any more.. Some of us just don't like the sunburst look...

True - I bought a black Jag, if it was only available in sunburst I would have got something else, possibly not even a fender. I figure whatever you make you gotta have a black one!

I think they had an abundance of 3 tone sunburst models left over and ran out of Olympic White, Red and Black. I have a 3tone sunburst and it has that Classic Look and its beautiful to look at at. I love black bass guitars since my hero usually plays all black basses most of the time...throw in a white outline and you have a classy looking bass.

The Blood spitting, Fire breathing Demon of the rock band KISS of course.
from the Black Gibson Grabbers and Ripper basses he played from the early 70's to the black custom Spector basses with White outline he thundered on through the mid 70's to the early 80's(always thought they were Olymbic basses but nope, it was spectors... to his custom Black Punnisher basses he sports now when he is not playing the AXE basses.
2nd Hero would be a toss up between John Entwistle of the WHO and John Paul Jones of Zepplin

Gene is a very underated bass player but the guy is much better then he is given credit for.

man, I'd love a gibson grabber or ripper now. my best friend used to have a grabber and it was such a fun bass to play!
uh, yeah to be honest kiss haven't excited me since i was a wee little thing in the late 70s - but John Entwhistle and JPJ, well, they're still in my top 3 fave bassists with James Jamerson.
I had a gig the night the Ox died, in a very sparse band, and I overplayed like a mother in his honour! :)

I am and always will be. Yeah besides The late Great John Entwistle and JPJ there is also Chris Squire of YES and Geddy Lee and Flea and Les Claypool, not to mention all the amazing Jazz and Fusion bass players that make most rock bass players sould like monkeys. When a Guitarist calls the bass a simplemans instrument and then to hear someone play it like a guitar is sweet music to me ears. I am in a dilema now, I love all styles of music and really got into jazz fusion and my love of rock so the two styles clash in my head and on my fingers..still trying to hone my style after all these years of playing........ 8)
