this is my first time on here and i hope to get some help.Im looking for a bass to refinish and have found a fender JP90 in a pawn shop for $250.00 . Its rough and has rusty strings and minor rust on other parts.I cant find any info on this bass and was wondering if its worth the price. Thanks

Sorry I'm late in replying, I rarely post in the Bass forum here, so if you have already moved on...oh well. Anyways, there is lots of info on the web about the JP-90. Just google Fender JP-90.

$250 seems like a great price IF the neck is straight and frets are good. I think I've seen JP-90's on ebay with sellers asking for as much as $700. The 2007 Blue Book price range is $550 to $250 depending on condition. http://books.google.com/books?id=IrN-E3 ... 90&f=false

I have a JP-90 and it's treated me fine. Light body and slim neck, which is good for me since I am a guitar player and only dabble in bass.
