Hey everyone, the kind folks over at TalkBass, where I am am a regular poster, directed me over here. They said that if anyone can answer my question, it's you guys, so any help will be much appreciated.

I have an old, very beat-up bass body in the shape of a '51 P. The best info that I have been able to gather so far is that it is likely from a '69 Tele Bass, but it is still unconfirmed. The whole long story of this bass, including a ton of pics, can be found at this link: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=581978

Thanks a ton for any info you may have.

I would like to see photos of the back of the body and of the front of the body in the bridge area with the bridge removed. So far it looks like a Fender Telecaster from 1969-1971. The pickguard may not be original. I can not explain the red magic marker in the neck pocket. That is not something I've seen done before. This would be worth restoring as a player but would have little if any collector value. The original neck would be nice to have too.

This looks very interesting. Its ashame you don't have the original neck as that might make it a lot easier to ID. I'm gonna keep checking this thread. I'm very curious about this bass.
