I posted this on the amp section, but maybe you bass dudes have some input. I am running a Fender 400 H Bassman amp with one Fender 410 pro slant cabinet and one Fender 115 pro cabinet. Is it best to hookup in a series or parallel out of the amp, or does it make a difference? The amp is 4 ohm min. and the cabinets are 8 ohms each. From what I heard, running them parallel each hooked into the amp is the way to go. Comments??

Won't really make a difference, but I guess I would run separate cables.

Sorry, I misread your question.... What I meant was: running in parallel from one cab to the next or both wired to the amp would be the same. Most likely if the speaker cabs allow you to chain them together, they are wired for parallel... but that wasn't at all what you were asking.

Whether you plug both into the amp or daisy chain the cabs you are still looking at 4 ohms. HOWEVER, ff you are using small cables like zip cord you'd be better served to run them both directly from the amp. You can tell if your cables are too small when you feel them after playing at gig volume for two or three hours and they feel a little warm to the touch. That warmth came from the watts that never got to the speakers. I use . Planet Waves 12 gauge cables with Speakon connectors. These stay icy cool.
