Hi there, I would like to have some info on my Japan Fender bass. I know it was made between 86-87. Serial number is F032581. Can anyone give me more info about it's "actual" manufacture date? Also any info about these basses would be great.

Thanks

That's a Power Jazz bass, a very cool bass. The front of the head stock actually has a graphite overlay to add strength.
That bass is the only Fender bass to feature a reversed P bass pickup
(Thats the E, A half being closer to the bridge than the d,g half)AFAIK

They feature black hardware , great necks that are painted black and yours ha sthe same bridge that was later used on the Precision bass Lyte, which is now called the Zone bass.

It also is the only P/J bass with a pick up switch. Most use two volumes and a tone.
I don't know when it was made but I suspect it may be from the mid eighties right after Fender was sold, because after the sale in 1985 Fender didn't own a US factory to make any guitars for about 18 months.
