im in the whatever for a fretless im tring to avoid the vm squire jazz bass and maby a p bass but i only have 306 dollars

Yup, agree. Save the extra hundred and change and and get a Standard Jazz fretless. 'Had one since '00, still diggin' it.

If you want a Precision Fretless, do the demi-Jaco thing, have the frets pulled and the board covered with (important: fill in the fret slots to prevent neck bow) epoxy

Well I agree spend the cash as you won't find a good one for 308 Washington's, although you cold buy a neck, if you have another bass body ...
