Are the stock pickups in the Jaguar bass passive?

The stock pickups are both active and passive. In passive mode, you can only use the pickup selectors (three switches on the lower horn) and volume / tone control (knobs between pickups). When active the active switch is turned on (upper horn), the roller wheels are engaged to change the tone of each individual pickup. The bass takes a standard 9v battery (battery compartment in back), but only uses it when active is engaged.

Yes, I know that but I thought that the pickups are passive with the the bass having active electronics. I'm asking because I'm going to be putting in bartolinis in if possible.

Sorry man, I misunderstood your question. The pickups are passive with active electronics. You should be able to switch out the pups without much problem.
