The only two bassists of note that I recollect playing a short-scale instrument were Felix Pappalardi (Gibson EB1, Mountain) and Jack Bruce (Gibson EB3, Cream). I don't think I've ever seen a Fender Mustang Bass onstage.

Three times I've seen the Stones in concert and there was no Fender Mustang anywhere on stage. Twice I saw Noel Redding live with the JHE and both times he played a Jazz Bass. The others I don't know and couldn't care less about.
