I only see some older Aerodyne left handed models on ebay / reverb so I guess Fender did produce them in the past. We need more left handed models Fender!!!!.

I didn't even know they made that model left handed. Then again, there were several models from that whole series that were in Japan that never were available in the US. I don't know about Europe, or the rest of the planet, though.

To the best of my recollection, Fender never imported any lefty Aerodynes into the United States. So the few that you see are 'gray market' private imports from Japan or Europe. If you want one you'll just have to make your best deal on Reverb or fly to Japan. Fender USA no longer allows Fender Japan to export to the European Union.

As far as more leftys are concerned, I couldn't agree more! I was pleasently surprised to see Fender add a lefty Precision to the new Ensenada made 'Player' series. At $650, it is an unbeatable entry level Fender lefty. My American Professional Precision was $1,500. What I'd love to see would be lefty Elites.

I like the thinner neck of the Aerodyne and the sound is also very much to my liking ( I have tried the right handed model at guitar center). Looks are also very nice but alas, I will stick to my Ibanez SR300 for now since it is one of the very few options under 1000.

Keep saving! A lefty Fender is worth it. If you like thinner necks, the new Fender American Professioal Jazz with it's 'Slim C' neck should be right up your ally. I love my American Professional Precision with it's wider 'Thick C' neck profile. It's become my #1 bass over my '76 Precision, and now my American Standard Jazz with 'Modern C' neck feels too skinny and too narrow. Still sounds superb.
