Sometimes, you can find some old ones out there that are in good shape, or sometimes you can get them reconed. Whether or not any of that is worth it, since there is so much new stuff out there, is up to you, I suppose. I guess if you have a vintage amp and want to keep it authentic to the time period.

I couldn't see the expense of messing with the old speakers. The current Eminence do fine with me.

Yeah, also considering how inexpensive a lot of them can be, with really good specs to boot.

Yep, that's a good point.

The Fender Urban Short Scale Gig Bag fits the Mustang PJ nicely. A good acquisition for anyone who may need a gig bag for a Mustang, similar size short scale bass.

Yeah, I guess it depends on the forum you go into.

The shortie really did it's thing today. The lighter Mustang PJ felt good on the shoulders, and I was just playing it so fine.

Sounds good. 8) I wish I could pick one of those up, myself. I don't realistically see that happening anytime soon, though. Unless, by some miracle that AMS has one discounted ridiculously low, like they did with the Orange amp. I'll eventually find something with a short scale neck, though.

I liked the Pawn Shop Mustang with the Humbucking it had on it, but the PJ is a bit more versatile overall. I don't remember how the Pawn Shop neck felt as compared to the PJ. It does't matter, the PJ is an extremely smooth, clean, and quick neck, and board.
The PJ like I mentioned before, to me feels, and plays like a short scale Jazz. So much more better than an SG Std. Gibson. The position of the strap buttons are in better positions also, like Fender Basses, unlike the SG Std.'s. I don't think I'd even acquire a used SG Std. anymore.

I think the fact that it's neck feels close to a Jazz neck is a plus, since that does seem to be the one neck you've liked the most going between all of the basses you've had, since I've known you at least. Maybe it has to do with the radius and nut width. I suspect that they are the same, sans the fact the scale is different. Speaking of a short scale Jazz, they actually made those back in 2005, or somewhere around there, but I don't think they lasted too long. I do remember briefly seeing those online. Now, that might have been interesting to try out, if you could even find one.

I wouldn't have minded trying a short Jazz myself. But from what I get out of the PJ, I don't think I'd miss a short jazz.

Actually, I have to stand corrected on something with that short scale Jazz. It actually had a P and J configuration, although there was one in Japan that had both Jazz pickups. There was a thread about that back in late June of 2016. https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=101336 I found this in my search, besides finding the actual bass. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/fe ... -jazz-bass I'm trying to remember offhand when the Modern Player series came out. I think it might have been around 2012, give or take a year or two. Either way, it's been a few years since that was around.

I didn't follow the any other Fender short scales, other than the Mustang at that time. I always thought it would've been cool for Fender to make short versions of AM. Std.'s at that time. Now Am. Pro. short scales. Maples boards is what I'd like to see on the short scales.
