Does it even seem that long ago to you?

No, honestly not really. I try to keep a younger mindset than I really am. I have parts of my body that don't feel like 67, and others that do.

It appears to have been a fortunate decision to keep this title intact. IT'S BACK!!! with the Markbass! ImageImageImage

Yes, this is the same Olympic White from before. It was still sitting there at the local GC. Looking just the way I left it. The Epi really didn't stack up to the Fender for a short scale. There were annoying dead spots on the neck, in three spots that I played on quite a bit. Returned the Epi while I could, and snagged it.

Well, as much as I like the hollow body design, sound, and concept, they can be rather temperamental sometimes. That's why the Ibanez is my main bass, and not the violin bass, although I'm sure I'll use it for certain things. I think that's actually good that you got that bass, because I know it's a decent player, and it shouldn't have too many issues, and it's certainly a lot more adjustable, if there are any.

I never had an issue with this Mustang, so I just figured I better snag while it's still available. Apparently no one else liked it enough to even try it out, and play it in the store. Image

I think you lucked out with that, then. It's good you were able to get something back that was a good player, and not have to go through a bunch of potential duds, or whatever.

Absolutely right. I feel ok with the Fender overall. Everything works on it, the way I expect it to. Another downfall, I love Fenders in Olympic White. HaHa!

I forgot to mention, I have a gator bass case. On a whim I thought I'd try the case out for the Mustang. It fits!!!!!!!!!

I'm using a Gator GTSA-GTRBASS (TSA) hard shell case for the Mustang PJ. It's a secure fit for the shorty, in a full size Bass case. It's also easier to find in local stores, and about $30. - $40 Buckaroos cheaper, than a Fender hardshell case made for the Mustang size basses. The neck of the Mustang, fits into the neck channel. Then the base of the head sits on the topside divider, and the top strap button is up against the lower side divider. The bass is held place in the case, almost like it's being hung in a floor stand, by its head.

Hey, if you know it works for you, then that's what matters. It's good to know there's something that you can generally depend on to work for you. 8) I have a few pieces like that, as well. Ibanez seems to work for me, and of course, Fender amps, and so far, Ampeg, too. I suppose I could say Squier, as well.

Great to know you have a hard case that works. 8) Sometimes, finding cases for instruments that aren't conventionally sized, like long scale basses, can be a pain in the arse, or really expensive.

Yep. I feel like I'm past the buying an oversize case, and packing it with kitchen, or bathroom tiles. Some gig bags are even a pain to get close to the right size.

Your amps should be set, as well as your basses.

The Fender Mustang G&G hardshell case is $220. And, it really doesn't hold the Mustang inn place as well as the Gator GTSA-GTRBASS (TSA) hard shell case I'm using. It looks almost the same as the Fender hardshell on the outside. $165. Is a lot, but it's better than $220. This is the only bass i'm down too, so it gets some serious protection.

The Jazz pup on the Mustang PJ, really needs the treble tone turned up for its volume. With it at a lower volume, and the bass tone up, for me it sounds fine with the treble low, and in the background. Some thing I really didn't do the first time around with this bass. The pup switch is almost always on either the top position for the Precision pup, or in the middle position for both, with the treble at an extremely low setting. Bass tone way up.

Yeah, I have a case for the Ibanez, but I still need to get something for the Ampeg. I do already have a gym bag that I keep my cables, and other accessories in, but I do need to get another one of some time for the head. I probably might be able to squeeze the Ampeg in with it, but I think that would be a bad idea with all of the other crap in there, as well. I like to carry more stuff than I typically need, just in case. Extra cables, batteries, etc. It's better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.
