Sometimes I can see where it may be a bit cost effective to do a replacement of another bass, over putting more money into a bass that you may replace in the future anyway. One thing I can say, at least for my own Violin preference, I'd do the Hofner Ignition over the Epi Viola any time.

Well, the one thing is you got to try out both of them, and I got that information from you, so I have that to go on. I rarely get to go to any sort of music shop (haven't been in one in years,) because there isn't one close by that I'd have to make a special trip to go see, and actually try something out, if they even carry the things in the first place.

There is Guitar Center in Warwick, but I'd have to go over a toll bridge which costs $4 each way and deal with traffic to get there. It's kind of out of the way just to screw around playing on stuff that I don't have the money for at the moment to mess with. Sadly, there used to be at least 4 or 5 music shops when I first moved here 16 years ago, but they're all gone now, and have been. There is one shop that's in the next town over, but there really isn't anything there for any bass stuff. It's a small place that gets most of his business from guitar lessons. It was kind of depressing, actually.

I'm not complaining, but we had more regular size music stores around before the warehouse music stores showed up here too. I'm not that far from four GC's, and one SA. The furthest GC is about 27 miles south on I-95. SA is 10 miles.

That's quite a bit of stores, but Florida is a hell of a lot bigger state, and Miami is a major metropolitan area, which isn't far from where you are.

I stay as far north of Miami-Dade County as I can. There are a few both in Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. There is one SA in North Miami off the Palmetto Expressway, but that's about 35 miles south of me.

The furthest down there I've been was Fort Lauderdale. I remember it being a lot hotter than St. Pete.

I'm not too far north of Fort Lauderdale. I kinda' grew up in Fort Lauderdale, around the area. If you live closer to the ocean, most of the time there's a sea breeze that cools it down a bit. As you go further inland, the hotter it gets.

Yeah, I lived in Brandon for a couple of years, and it definitely was hotter there. Technically, I live on an island in going into the North Atlantic, and it's still pretty cool around here, which is nice for the summer, but when winter rolls around, it's a $@!&*.

Brandon can get pretty hot. I haven't been in cold weather for some time. Ice, and snow, all that stuff.

You lived in New York at one time, weren't you? Didn't you mention that a long time ago?

Yeah, I was up in Utica, NY in 1962 / 1963. One cold brutal winter there.

I'll bet. That's even further up north than where I am, going near Vermont, and not too far from Canada, as well. You had family up there?

My parents, and myself. The snowfall was enormous.
